Mouse skin organoids are derived from the co-culture system of epidermal cells and dermal cells of the back skin of newborn mice (P0-P3).The skin is the largest organ of the human body and is composed of epidermis, dermis, and subcutaneous tissue.Skin organoids can self-organize to form a flat skin structure containing skin accessories such as hair follicles and sebaceous glands.The epidermis is composed of keratinocytes (keratinocytes), expressing K14 (basal cells) and K10 (differentiated cells); the dermis contains fibroblasts (fibroblasts), which are divided into papillary dermis (papillary dermis) and reticular dermis (reticular dermis).Skin organoids are important models for studying skin development, hair follicle regeneration, wound healing, skin diseases (such as epidermolysis bullosa, psoriasis), and skin toxicology.
