Mouse common bile duct organoids (EHBD organoids, EHBDOs) are derived from the mouse common bile duct (extrahepatic bile duct, EHBD), which is the extrahepatic bile duct system.EHBD includes the common hepatic duct and the common bile duct, and its bile duct cells express a unique combination of markers.Common bile duct organoids express progenitor cell markers Pdx1, bile duct differentiation markers CK19/Krt19, Sox9, Aqp1 and Cftr, and epithelial markers E-cadherin。Compared with intrahepatic bile duct organoids, EHBD organoids are closer to extrahepatic bile duct tissue in the transcriptome, but do not have the ability to differentiate into liver cells.The common bile duct organoids provide an important model for the study of biliary atresia, primary sclerosing cholangitis and bile duct cancer.
