Organoid is mainly derived from surgical specimens or endoscopic biopsy samples of patients with adenocarcinoma.According to Lauren's typing, it is divided into intestinal type and diffuse type, and according to the anatomical site, it is divided into cardia cancer and non-cardia cancer.Gastric cancer organoid retains the histological characteristics of the primary tumor (such as cytokeratin expression, p53 mutation accumulation, Ki67 proliferation markers), genomic characteristics (TP53, PIK3CA, ARID1A, CDH1, RHOA and other common mutations) and drug response characteristics.Unlike normal gastric organoids, gastric cancer organoids usually exhibit a higher proliferation rate and non-dependence on certain growth factors in culture, reflecting the autonomous proliferation characteristics of tumor cells.Organoids of gastric cancer from different patient sources differ significantly in morphology.
